Andrew Kershaw, A.I.B.

Andrew Kershaw has is an experienced professional with over 30 years in financial markets, predominantly in Japan but including other Asian markets. He undertook diverse roles including country head and chief representative roles with institutions such ANZ Investment Bank, ING Baring, Commonwealth Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. His core expertise for most of this time was in emerging market debt and structured capital market debt and credit products.

He was an early stage director of the Shimoda Group in 1993, which has now covers North American, East European & Asia-Pacific time-zones. He was a Director of the Shimoda Resources Holdings (US listed) and has participated as Director or Advisor to several other Emerging Markets investment Funds, including the first Far East Russian fund with David Mapley, the First Vladivostok Fund launched in 1994. Andrew was an early stage shareholder of the Vladivostok Stock Exchange.

With a Japanese business partner he established SIG Associates in 2003 and from offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore the firm provides capital introductions for Fund management firms to raise assets in the major Asian Financial Centres.

He has extensive contacts throughout corporate and institutional Asia and Japan, in particular investment institutions, and has successfully built several businesses during his time in this market.

Andrew is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers, and has lived in Japan for over 20 years. Andrew is a fluent Japanese speaker, and also an avid runner....
